E-signatures

Collect legally binding signatures on proposals and standalone documents.

Myra eliminates the need for expensive third-party electronic signature tools. By integrating e-signatures directly into your CRM and document workflow, you can move from "Proposal" to "Contract Signed" in minutes, with a full audit trail and legal compliance.

How to Prepare a Document for Signature

You can request signatures on two types of files:

  1. Dynamic Proposals: Documents built within the Myra Designer that pull in live data.
  2. Static PDFs: Existing contracts, NDAs, or forms that you upload from your computer.

The Drag-and-Drop Editor

Once your document is open in the E-sign editor, you can place various "Smart Fields":

  • Signature: A dedicated area for the user to sign.
  • Initials: Small boxes for every page of a long contract.
  • Date Signed: This field auto-populates with the current date when the signer completes the process.
  • Custom Text: Allow the signer to type in information (e.g., their Title or Company Name).
  • Checkboxes: For selecting options or agreeing to specific clauses.

Assigning Signers

If a document requires multiple people to sign (e.g., you and your client), you can assign each field to a specific recipient. You can also set a Signing Order (e.g., Signer A must sign before Signer B receives the invitation).

The Signer Experience

We've optimized the signing process to be as fast as possible to maximize your conversion rates.

  • No Account Needed: Signers do not need to log in or create a Myra account. They simply click the secure link in their email.
  • Guided Signing: A "Start" button takes them to the first field they need to fill. A progress bar shows how many fields are left.
  • Flexible Signature Types: Signers can:
    • Type: Choose from several professional-looking script fonts.
    • Draw: Use their mouse or a touchscreen to draw their signature.
    • Upload: Upload an image of their physical signature.

Myra signatures are designed to meet global legal standards for electronic transactions.

Compliance

  • UK & EU: Compliant with the eIDAS regulation for Electronic Signatures.
  • USA: Compliant with the ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA).
  • Australia: Compliant with the Electronic Transactions Act.

The Audit Trail

Every signed document is accompanied by a Certificate of Completion. This tamper-evident document records:

  • Unique Document ID: A 128-bit identifier.
  • Signer Identity: Name, verified email address, and IP address.
  • Event Log: Timestamps for when the document was sent, viewed, and signed.
  • Digital Fingerprint: A SHA-256 hash that ensures the document content hasn't been altered since the signature was applied.

Managing Your Signature Requests

The E-signatures Dashboard gives you a bird's-eye view of all pending and completed contracts.

  • Status Tracking: See at a glance who has viewed the document but hasn't signed yet.
  • Automated Reminders: Set the system to "nudge" signers every 3 days if they haven't completed the document.
  • Voiding Documents: If a deal falls through or an error is found, you can void a request, which instantly disables the signing link for all parties.
  • Auto-Archiving: Once fully signed, the finalized PDF is automatically attached to the Contact and Deal records in your CRM.

Advanced Automations

Connect your e-signatures to the rest of your business:

  • Move Pipeline Stage: Automatically move a Deal to "Closed Won" as soon as the final signature is received.
  • Trigger Onboarding: Start an automation that sends a "Welcome Pack" email only after the contract is signed.
  • Internal Notifications: Ping your Slack channel or notify the Account Manager the moment a high-value contract is finalized.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these signatures as legal as "wet" signatures on paper? In the vast majority of business contexts (NDAs, Sales Contracts, HR Documents), yes. However, certain documents like Wills, Deeds, or some Real Estate transfers may require physical signatures or "Qualified" electronic signatures depending on your local jurisdiction.

What happens if I edit the document after sending it? You cannot edit a document once it has been sent for signature. This is to protect the integrity of the agreement. You must void the existing request, make your changes, and send a new version.

Can I use my own branding? Yes. The signing page will use the logo and brand colors defined in your Workspace Settings, providing a professional and consistent experience for your clients.
