Onboarding

The guided first-run flow that sets up your workspace, branding, pipeline, and team.

When you create a new workspace, Myra walks you through a short guided onboarding flow that gets you to a usable CRM in a few minutes. This process is designed to minimize "blank slate" anxiety by pre-configuring the platform based on your specific business needs. You can skip any step and come back to it later from Settings, ensuring you can get into the app as quickly as possible.

The Onboarding Journey: Step-by-Step

The flow is divided into logical stages, each building upon the last to create a cohesive environment.

1. Workspace Basics

Establish your brand identity within the platform.

  • Workspace Name: The name of your business or specific department.
  • Logo Upload: Upload a high-resolution PNG or SVG. This logo will appear on your login screen, the top-left of your sidebar, and within client-facing documents like proposals.
  • Brand Colour: Choose your primary brand hex code. This colour is used for buttons, links, and accents across your booking pages and emails to maintain brand consistency.

2. Industry & Use Case

Myra is industry-agnostic, but we provide sensible defaults to save you time.

  • Selection: Pick the closest match (Professional Services, SaaS, Healthcare, Real Estate, etc.).
  • What happens: Based on your choice, the system pre-fills your pipeline stages, suggests custom lead fields, and loads industry-specific email templates. For example, a "Real Estate" choice might include "Viewing Scheduled" as a pipeline stage.

3. Pipeline Setup

Define how a lead moves from first contact to a closed deal.

  • Standard Flow: Most businesses start with New Lead → Discovery → Proposal → Negotiation → Won/Lost.
  • Customization: You can rename these stages on the fly or add new ones. We recommend starting with 4–6 stages to keep your visual Kanban board manageable.

4. Lead Fields

Decide what information you need to collect from every prospect.

  • Core Fields: Name, Email, and Phone are included by default.
  • Custom Properties: Choose from common fields like "Source", "Budget ($)", or "Company Size".
  • Requirement: You can mark fields as "Required" during this step to ensure your team never misses vital data.

5. Communication Channels

The heart of Myra is its unified inbox.

  • Email: Connect via OAuth (Gmail/Outlook) or SMTP.
  • SMS & Calling: Provision a local or toll-free number. Myra handles the regulatory registration (A2P 10DLC) for you.
  • Testing: You can send a test SMS or Email directly from this screen to confirm connectivity.

6. Calendar Integration

Sync your availability to prevent double bookings.

  • Providers: Native support for Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 (including Exchange).
  • Two-way Sync: Myra reads your busy slots and writes new bookings back to your primary calendar instantly.

7. Invite Your Team

Collaboration is key to scaling.

  • Roles: Add teammates as "Admins" (full access) or "Users" (limited to their own leads/tasks).
  • Bulk Invite: You can paste a list of emails to invite your entire department at once.

Best Practices for a Smooth Setup

  • Don't skip the Logo: It might seem minor, but seeing your brand in the UI makes the platform feel like "yours" from day one.
  • Keep Pipelines Lean: It’s tempting to create 12 stages. Start with 5 and only add more if you find yourself unable to categorize a specific phase of your sales cycle.
  • Set Currency Early: Ensure your workspace is set to $ USD if you are operating in the UK to ensure all dashboard metrics and proposal values are accurate.
  • Connect One Channel First: Even if you plan to use SMS and Voice, connecting your Email first allows you to start testing automations immediately.

Common Pitfalls

  • Over-complicating Lead Fields: Don't ask for 20 pieces of information on your first day. Start with the essentials and add custom fields as your process matures.
  • Skipping the Industry Selection: Choosing "Other" is fine, but you'll have to build everything from scratch. Even if you aren't a perfect fit, picking the closest industry usually saves 30 minutes of manual setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change my industry later? You cannot "re-run" the industry selector to overwrite your setup, but you can manually edit every single setting (pipelines, fields, etc.) in the Settings menu at any time.

What happens if I close the browser during onboarding? Don't worry. Your progress is saved. When you log back in, you'll see a "Resume Setup" banner at the top of your dashboard.

I'm an Agency. Do I do this for every client? Yes, but you can use Snapshots to skip the manual work. Once you've onboarded your first client perfectly, you can "snapshot" that setup and apply it to all future clients in seconds.
